WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging (IM) apps out there. Meta-owned services are used by billions of people worldwide. However, it does come with some limitations that some other IM apps do not have – such as the lack of the Apple Watch app. Telegram, for example, allows users to quickly switch between multiple accounts on their app. WhatsApp does not offer this feature, but there is a solution. Here’s how to use two WhatsApp accounts on iPhone.

Dual SIM phones have been around for years, but for some reason, WhatsApp doesn’t allow you to switch accounts on your apps. Thanks to WhatsApp Business – an official business version of the app – users can use two accounts on iOS. If you are unfamiliar with this app, it offers all the features and more available on the regular version – such as automatic replies and catalogs. It is worth noting that if you use this version of the app, WhatsApp will tag your account as a business.

  • Head to the App Store.
  • If you’re already using the regular WhatsApp app:
    • Search for WhatsApp Business.
    • Download the app.

  • Create an account on the one you’ve just installed. This will allow you to use each of the WhatsApp apps for a separate number/account.

Personally, I only use the regular version of the app, because I don’t have more than one phone number. However, many people have double digits for a variety of reasons. Whether it’s a second number for work or a number you share with only a specific group of people in your life, you can now have a dedicated WhatsApp account for it on the same iPhone.
