Well, the dark mode on Snapchat arrived a little later than other social media apps. Before Snapchat, communication apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit have released a dark theme. Still, there are limitations to the Snapchat Dark theme. Only in the iOS app, Snapchat has released a dark theme. For Android users, there is no dark mode in the app.

How to Enable Snapchat Dark Mode on iPhone

#1 Launch the Snapchat app and go to your profile by clicking the Bitmoji available on the top left corner of the app.

#2 Select the Settings option available on the top left corner of the screen.

#3 Scroll down and find the App Appearance option at the bottom of the page.

#4 Click on it and you will find three options.

Match System: This will match your iPhone display settings.
Always Light: This will use the normal light appearance.
Always Dark: This will apply the dark theme.

#5 Choose Always Dark from the three options to enable the dark theme on Snapchat.

How to Get Dark Mode on Snapchat – Android Smartphone

Unlike iPhones, Android devices do not have native Dark Mode support for Snapchat. If you need to use the Snapchat app in dark mode, you need to tweak your smartphone settings a bit. You will need to make changes to the developer options. Update your Android smartphone to the latest version to get new features.

#1 Open Settings on your Android device and choose Display.

#2 From the list, find and enable the Dark mode for your device.

#3 Now, go to the Settings main page and scroll down until you see the About phone section.

#4 Click on it and select Software Information.

#5 Tap on the Build Number option repeatedly until you see a notification stating that the Developer option is enabled.

#6 Now, get back to the Setting page and select the Developer options menu.

#7 Now, enable the Override force-dark (or Force Dark mode for Samsung smartphones) to get the dark mode on Snapchat.

#8 Now, launch the Snapchat app, and it will open with a dark or black background.

The above method only works on older versions of Snapchat. To turn on the Dark Theme on the latest version of Snapchat, you have to wait for its official release. The Snapchat app also has a unique feature called Night Mode or Low Light Mode. When taking pictures, there will be a crescent icon. Tapping this icon will enable night mode on Snapchat.
