Huawei is going strong with its custom-designed HarmonyOS based on Android. HarmonyOS saw the light of day in 2020 when restrictions were imposed on Huawei. HarmonyOS 3.0 was announced in October 2021 and was scheduled to be released later that year. While things were delayed, for better or worse, we’re now finally seeing HarmonyOS 3.0 released. Harmony OS 3.0 Features
Regarding the new features, nothing has been revealed. Yes, the developer preview has been out for a few months. Huawei has always been strict when it comes to developer beta programs and thus, there have been no leaks to the general public. At least what we can expect is that the UI will still incorporate the EMUI design styling without any Google services.

HarmonyOS 3.0 Release Date
Today on July 27, Huawei announced HarmonyOS 3.0 at the Huawei Developer Conference. At this developer conference, Huawei gives a first glimpse of HarmonyOS 3.0, and launches new devices that will incorporate the HarmonyOS 3.0 ecosystem, along with its features. The event took place in China and was live streamed on the Huawei YouTube channel.
The developer preview for HamronyOS 3.0 started in October 2021, so, we can expect a stable version of the OS rollout soon. However, there is no official statement regarding the global rollout. Huawei also announced four new devices at the same event.
HarmonyOS 3.0 All Supported Devices
With the initial release of HarmonyOS, we got to see Huawei rolling out the update to almost every device released under the Huawei and Honor branded devices in 2017 and later. So, with HarmonyOS 3.0, we have yet to see if Huawei will update its 6-year-old devices, or if it will limit the number of devices. So far, we only have a list of devices that we think are expected to get the update to HarmonyOS 3.0.

As stated above, this is just a list of devices that are expected to get the update to Harmony OS 3, The official list of devices that will be updated to the new OS is yet to be released. In all fairness, there is a lot that is to be known about HarmonyOS 3 and we can’t wait to share all of that info with you when it is made available.

[Update: July 27] HarmonyOS 3 Public Beta Goes Live
With the conference going on and the announcement of Harmony OS 3, Huawei has now opened up the public beta to Harmony OS 3. As of now, 14 devices are eligible for the public beta update.

As you’d expect with open beta programs like this, slots are limited and so far only the Chinese versions of the aforementioned devices will be able to enroll in HarmonyOS 3’s beta program. Recruitment for the program is open from 27 July 2022. By 10 August 2022.
