Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and Mi 10 Lite receive MIUI 12 updates.
Finally The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and Mi 10 Lite have received the call to MIUI 12. Both updates are rolling out as OTAs. The one for the Mi 10 Lite brings the global version of the device into line with the European variant, which Xiaomi upgraded to MIUI 12 in July.
Xiaomi released the Mi 10 Lite in May, shortly before the announcement of MIUI 12. The company started upgrading the European variant to its latest OS in July with V126.96.36.199.QJIEUXM, but it left the global model on V188.8.131.52.QJIMIXM. Xiaomi rolled out V184.108.40.206.QJIMIXM in June, so the global edition of the Mi 10 Lite was due at least a security patch update or two.
However, the latest update has also brought MIUI 12. Xiaomi has called it V220.127.116.11.QJIMIXM and it should be rolling out to handsets as an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade. In case Xiaomi chooses to push the OTA in batches, then you can download the recovery ROM via the link below. Please note that this file is considerably larger than the OTA, so it may be better to wait for the OTA to arrive if you have a data cap.
Similarly, the Mi 8 SE has received its first MIUI 12 update. Xiaomi has rolled out V18.104.22.168.QEBCNXM to the device, denoting that the update is for Chinese handsets. The upgrade to MIUI 12 may well be the last for the handset, seeing as it started life on MIUI 9.5. Strictly speaking, MIUI 12 is the third OS update for the device, although it has only received two Android OS upgrades in that time. Again, you can download V22.214.171.124.QEBCNXM manually should you wish to do so.
