Download Google Camera 8.6 released with new Features

Google has started rolling out a new update with version 8.6 of the Pixel’s exclusive camera app with some new material-op tweaks. Last month, the company rolled out a version 8.5 update to the Google Camera app with performance improvements.

According to information via 9to5Google, the update mainly adds visual changes to the “Modes” tab at the end of the carousel. Buttons with features like Panorama, Photo Sphere, and Lens have now been redesigned to feel like a rounded rectangular container.

In addition to content tailored to you, Google has also moved the options in the Camera Modes tab down a bit to improve accessibility and of course the user experience. If you use your thumb to tap the shutter, this small but significant change can dramatically enhance your photography experience.

As Material U theming is finally here for the Google Camera app, dynamic themes are now applied to buttons and other key elements including the mode switcher and lock folder shortcut with a dominant color taken from the home screen wallpaper.

The Google Camera 8.6 update rollout has started initially for Android 13 based Pixel smartphones, however, it is likely to be available for all Pixel devices with a stable update. Before the public release of OS 13, the company may roll it out to all eligible Pixel phones via the Play Store.
